Tonight I'm watching Appaloosa on HBO. It is a movie starring Ed Harris & Viggo Mortensen as gunmen and long time partners who team up to tame a town and bring down a desperate criminal played by the ever strange Jeremy Irons. And Renee Zelweiger stirs things up too.
The movie is pretty good and I'm not goint into too much detail but it's based on a book by Robert B Parker, one of my favorite writers. He created Spenser, my favorite wiseguy Boston detective. And he writes Jesse Stone And Sunny Randall. And now apparently westerns. Ed Harris wrote the screenplay but the dialogue is pure RBP. And in Appaloosa, Virgil and Everett are Spenser and Hawk. Check them all out. You'll see what I mean.
