I've lived in Lubbock for 34 years and had never seen Buddy Holly's grave in the City of Lubbock Cemetery. I decided to stop at the place that the sign pointed to and was surprised at how little fanfare there was at the sight. As you can see, he was buried under the family spelling of Holley in the family plot. Legend has it that musicians get good luck if they use a guitar pick and strum the guitar on the stone. Then they leave the pick. There were a couple of picks that you can see in the picture and also a necklace.
