Today John Ensign, a Republican senator from Nevada admitted to having an affair with a staff member who's husband also worked for him. I don't know the man, never really heard of him, but I have a question: Is it too much to ask to be a faithful husband? Is it too much to just do the right thing? The man was thinking of running for president in 2012. Is that dead in the water or do we forgive and forget?
Clay Walker sings a song called 'Then What' where the is a line that says "whatcha gonna do when the new wears off and the old shines new, it ain't really love and it ain't really lust, you ain't anybody anybody's gonna trust".
Why should we trust this man when he's lied to and betrayed the woman he promised to love and cherish to and encouraged a woman to lie to her husband? If he lied to a woman he loved what chance do we have?
He's not the 1st and won't be the last and he is Nevada's problem. Heaven knows there have been liars in politics since Julias Ceasar and Marc Anthony but it doesn't make it right. I come from Texas, home of some of the most questionable campaigns ever. Rumor has it that LBJ once won a county in Texas because all of the people in the cemetary not only voted but amazingly did it in alphabetical order. Bill Clinton was the biggest horndog in and out of the white house AND he had no taste in women to fool around with. The New York Governor Spitzer had to resign because of his prostitute habits.
There is probably nothing that can be done I guess. Being two faced is a requirement of political office and it will continue and we will not be surprised.
I could be wrong but Barack Obama seems to be a good, faithful and loving husband and father but we've all been fools before. I hope it's the case. He's asked us over and over to believe in him. Keep the promises you made to Michelle and you are one step up on that ladder to me.
